He was a Captain in the Revolutionary War, farmer, and large property owner. - Sec. #3
* REV. JOHN SMALLEY - 1734-1820
He was first pastor of the First Church of Christ, New Britain Parish, serving 50 years. His father, from England, was a weaver. - Sec. #3

He was active in the incorporation of the town of Berlin; he was a Captain in the Revolutionary War. - Sec. #1
