Pomfret Congregational Church

The town of Pomfret was named 1713. The first Congregational church was formed in 1715. The second church was formed in Abington District 1753. (From the Abington church records)

Marriages performed from 1753 to 1777 were performed by David Ripley, pastor. There were no records from 1777 to 1783. Marriages from 1783 to 1799 were performed by Walter Lyon, pastor.
