Connecticut FHL microfilm 5031 Deeds Vol. 14, p. 330 Grantor: Hezekiah Leffingwell, of Norwich Grantee: Elijah Lothrop, of Norwich Date: 24 September 1761 To all People to whom these Presents shall Come, Greeting. Know ye, That I Hezekiah Leffingwell of Norwich in New London County and Colony of Connecticut in New England For the Consideration of Sixty Pounds Lawfull Money Received to my full Satisfaction, of Elijah Lothrop of Norwich aforesaid DO Give, Grant, Bargain, Sell, and Confirm unto the said Elijah Lothrop and to his Heirs and Assigns forever all that Lot or parcel of Land that was set off to me in the Distribution of my Fathers Estate Lying near nomans Acre/ a place so Called in said Norwich Bounded as follows/ viz) Beginning at a Stone the North East Corner by the Road it being the South East Corner of a Lot which said Lothrop bought of Jonathan Starr and his Wife from thence running Westerly to the River abutting on Said Lothrops own Land, thence Runing Southerly abutting Westerly on the River two Chains & Eighty Links, thence Easterly abutting Southerly on Land Set out to my Sister Lucretia to the Highway, Thence running Northerly abutting Easterly on the Highway, Two Chains & Eighty Links to the first Corner Contaning three acres. To have and to hold the above-granted and bargained Premisses, with the Appurtenances thereof, unto him the said Elijah Lothrop and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever, to his and their own proper Use and Behoof, And also I the said Hez: Leffirgwell Do for myself my Heirs, Executors and Administrators, Covenant with the said Elijah Lothrop his Heirs, and Assigns, That at and until the Ensealing of these Presents, I am well Seised of the Premisses as a good indefeasible Estate in Fee Simple; and have good Right to Bargain and Sell the same in Manner and Form as is above-written; and that the same is Free of all Incumbrances whatsoever. And Farthermore, I the said Hezekiah Leffingwell do by these Presents Bind myself and my Heirs for ever to WARRANT and Defend the above-granted Premisses to him against all Claims and Demands whatsoever.
