History The town of Marlborough was incorporated in 1803 with lands taken from the surrounding towns of Colchester, Hebron and Glastonbury. The first schoolhouse was built in 1760 and the town's primary industry was farming. The town has a land area of approximately 23.4 square miles and a 2000 census population of 5,709 residents. It is bordered by Glastonbury to the North, Hebron to the East, Colchester to the South and East Hampton to the West. Today Marlborough is mainly a residential town but is in close proximity to major cities.

Vital Records Vitals records for Marlborough are available from 1803 at the town clerk's office with copies after 1897 being sent to the CT Dept of Health.
