Viets, Captain John - Who died with samll pox, 8 Apr 1777 in the 65th year.


There are evidently 2 stones for the same person. Note one says age 65 and the other in the 65th year. This is exactly the way the inscription reads.

The guide at the prison tells us Captain John, is buried here at this own request, When you dig down two feet there is a regular ledge of rock, which is probably the reason no more are buried here.
