Beneficiaries in the will of Samuel Banks (proved Feb. 10, 1774) consist of one son, James, one grandson, Samuel, and granddaughters Betty, Mary Ann, and Vashti.  Son James and wife Deborah are two witnesses.  Since no other children of Samuel are identified, all four grandchildren named in the will may be presumed children of James.  [Source: William S.
