EDWARDS, John, Sr., late of Stratfield, will dated Dec. 3, 1735, probated Sept. 23, 1744, mentioned his wife Mary, and children Abigail Wheeler, William, Thomas, John, Joseph, and children of my daughter Mary Dennie, deceased, no names, legacy to the Church of Christ in Stratfield, and devise to Rev. Samuel Cooke. Owned land in Fairfield, Stratford, Norwalk, and in the Province of New York. Executrix his wife Mary. Witnesses John Odell, Samuel Odell and Samuel Cooke, page 258. Executrix refused to qualify, and letters granted to Thomas Edwards and John Edwards. Appeal taken by William Edwards, page 262.
