SHERWOOD, Mary, late of Stratfield, widow of Captain Matthew Sherwood, will dated July 9, 1726, probated Feb. 2, 1730/1, daughter Mary Bradford received a legacy from her grandmother Sherwood, alias Banks, a son Samuel Sherwood, Son Lemuel Sherwood, daughters Jemima Gold. Executors her sons Samuel Sherwood and Lemuel Sherwood. Witnesses James Bennet, Tabitha Bennet, and Samuel Cooke, page 243. Inventory taken Feb. 26, 1730/1, by Daniel Hubbell and William Hodsdon, and filed Mch. 2, 1730/1, page 244. SHERWOOD, Samuel, Sr., late of Fairfield, will dated Mch. 15, 1724/5, probated June 22, 1725, mentioned children Ann, Sarah, Abigail, Lydia the daughter of my daughter Sarah Hull, son Daniel and son Samuel. Executor his son Samuel. Witnesses Daniel Bradley, Daniel Chapman. page 14. SHERWOOD, Thomas, Dr., late of Stratford, inventory taken by Joseph, Booth and Giedon Hawley, and on Sept. 5, 1727, the whole of the inventory was ordered to the widow Abigail Sherwood to bring up Hannah Sherwood and Andrew Messenger Sherwood, who were under seven years of age, page 149.
