"EARLY CONNECTICUT MARRIAGES THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, BOOK 4, Page 87 The town of Greenwich was settled in 1640. It submitted to Connecticut , 1662. The First Congregational Church in Greenwich was organized in 1670. There are no records of his church prior to 1787. It is said that earlier records were taken to Long Island during the Revolution and never returned. The Second Congregational Church in Greenwich was organized in 1705. The records begin with Rev. Stephen Munson's pastorate, 1728 to 1733.
